I used to live for the next Step...I agree with you. I used to live for the next Stephen King novel or the latest historical romance. I used to watch several soap operas, scary movies and comedy specials like George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Cheech & Chong, etc. But I also enjoyed spiritual books about psychics and what lies waiting for us on the other side of those Pearly Gates. Don & I have gotten to the point where we just don't like all the garbage on tv anymore. Today's entertainment is full of dirty words, angry people, sex, violence and just plain negativity. We struggle with finding things to watch that make us feel good & feel godly. I would never tell an adult what they should or should not read or watch. I feel as though the things I have experienced have shown me what I DON'T want in my life anymore. I think of spirituality like a stairway on our journey to Heaven. We are all on a different stair step, experiencing the things that God wants us to learn from as we climb our ladder up to Him. Did you see that video of the old dog teaching the puppy how to go up & down the steps? I feel like some of us that may have taken that next step can be examples like that old dog and show those who may be having a hard time with the stairs, how to climb to the next step. I love your writings, Steph. You always make me think. Keep up the great work!Jayne Mnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705622843544949449.post-21841593882295501632013-01-29T12:29:32.466-05:002013-01-29T12:29:32.466-05:00I know that some can watch things and read books a...I know that some can watch things and read books and its fine, but there are shows that I can't watch. I know a pastors wife who loves Cheaters.i would never want to watch that show, but that is her decision not mine. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
